The teachers' guide aims to provide teachers, parents and caregivers with a step by step guide on how to teach the language. Wherever necessary background information on the language and culture has been included to provide added insight to understanding and teaching the language. Included is a section on how to use the charts. The details of background knowledge for each chart picture is carefully explained. These books use songs, poems and conversations from the C.D.s.
Fun, exciting activities are provided for children to practice and consolidate new vocabulary and language structures. An emphasis has been placed on listening skills. Zulu text has been included for the extension of Zulu home language children.
All Zulu dialogue, songs and poems taught throughout this book are recorded in CD format so that learners can listen and learn the correct pronunciation for words and songs. Songs are used extensively to ensure enjoyment and repetition of vocabulary. C.D. has 82 tracks. The international tunes chosen after careful research, are well known so the focus is on the easy words.
Four full colour posters for the teachers to use as support material. Size 840mm x 600mm. Charts show People; Verbs; Transport and Destinations. These charts can be cut into individual pictures, to aid sentence construction in oral or written work. Example. People picture / Umama then choose a verb picture / geza. Umama uya geza. Ubaba uhamba nge+transport picture. Ugogo uya transport picture ukuya destination picture. Learners copy the spelling from the cards when writing the sentences.
